1st day in australia

Reached Melbourne airport at about 7am (local time). Was so tired had to wait to go through all the custom and immigration. Was so long queue. Crazy wan lo. Then went to collect luggage. Didnt really take very long but once i try to lift my luggage i almost fall.

Then went out to the arrival hall after declaring the food that i brought. Waited at the meeting point for almost 2 hours to gather all the monash students.

The weather in Melbourne was ok. Quite cold when the wind blows but overall still can tahan la. So went up the airport transport which is a van with extra compartment behind it. The guy was nice enough to explain the places around to us but i was too tired to even listen. Just slept all the way to my accommodation which is Normanby house. Once reached, not sure where to register but luckily someone guide me to the MRS operation office while i left all my luggage all the corridor of the Normanby house. Was quite scary coz scared ppl will steal my stuff but once i came back after registration it was still there. Registration was quite simple. Just need to fill up sum forms, collect the keys, hear sum explanation from the reception and everything is done. Wasnt sure of my room so have to walk one big round to get to my room when it suppose to be very near. Once reached room, message Carmen to tell about my arrival but she was in Melbourne city with Yee Ming and Pei Ryn so have to spend some time alone in the room. Was quite easy for me tho. I slept whole afternoon without eating lunch and by the time i woke up its already dark outside.

Then i message Carmen again just to find out where she was. Scheduled to meet at 7.30pm at Farrer halls. So nice of her, she bought some snacks for me in case i hungry at night. Talked all the way to the “cafeteria” but it was closed. So she volunteered to cook instant noodle for me at her halls. Tho not really full, it was ok for that moment. I wasn’t neither hungry nor full. After that, she brought me around the campus. We visited the Richardson hall where everyone usually hang out. Then we walked to the engineering building, sports complex and campus centre. All the time we were talking about everything. Was very fun spending time with her. Then Yee Ming called that she already back home. So went to meet up with her at her place. Her room was quite small it was good enough actually especially if you dun have many things. Then she showed me Charm and Dynamitez performance during Cheer 2007 where i didn’t go because of the pre-departure briefing. We talked awhile more then i left. On the way out, said hi to Sian Thoe and Krishant. After exiting the building, thanked Carmen for bringing me around and i went back to my room. It’s 12.30 now. Need to wake up early tomorrow to try transferring my accommodation to Richardson hall.
